One of the best things about this glorious trail

Is that it welcomes everyone, even our best friends with a tail.

Dogs are welcome to come and roam along the whole path

So if you and your pooch encounter frowny faces and pedestrian wrath

At other parks because they only want to have people around

You know you have a place that’s not only better but it will astound.

Tour around the trail and even see trains on the close by rails

The Canal is a weathered beauty of time

With so much nature all along this ride

Of course there’s locks, shops, and stores for those who prefer something artificially made

And there’s areas for all kinds of games that you may or may not have played.

It’s a place where everyone can get along just fine

And something new to see with the slow passing of time.

You can take on as much of the trail as you see fit

And for New Year it can really draw you from the couch where you sit.

With so much to see and so much to do throughout the course of the year

You know there is a place where you can go, and it is right here.
