Western Maryland Rail Trail

By

September 29, 2014 the WooFDriver took the WooFPAK on a Midnight Mushing Tour of the Western Maryland Rail Trail. This trail parallels the C&O Canal Towpath with the town of Hancock, Maryland in the middle of its 22 miles. From the trail the WooFDriver passed by the ruins of the Round Top Cement Mill. The mill was built in the 1830’s and was Hancock’s largest employer during the Civil War. Fruit tree farms surrounded the area in the 1920’s.
