New River Trial

By

On November 11, 2017 the WooFDriver headed to the New River Trail in southwestern Virginia for a Furwheeling mushing adventure. This trail is 57.7 miles long of crushed stone over the old railroad bed of the Norfolk Southern Railroad. While in operation the outbound freight was mostly iron ore, but also included farmed products, lumber and cotton. Due to the lack of traffic, the railroad abandoned this area in the 1980s and donated the right of way to the state.
