Grist Mill Trail, Maryland

By

On November 11, 2016 the WooFDriver and his crew took the PAK out for a Mushing adventure on the Grist Mill Trail. This 2.5 mile long asphalt trail is located in one of Maryland’s biggest and oldest state parks, Patapsco Valley created in 1907. Remnants of the B&O Railroad are scattered along the trail. Also along the trail is the Swinging Bridge that allowed workers of the Orange Grove Flour Mill to cross the river, the mill unfortunately burned down in 1905. Additionally on the trail is the Bloede Dam that is said to be the world’s first submerged electrical generating plant, but the dam is scheduled for removal to bring the Patapsco River back to its natural state.
