C&O Towpath – Cohill Station

By

TransparentSign130.7On January 7, 2016 the WooFDriver took the WooFPAK on a Mushing Tour of the C&O Canal Towpath in the area of the old Cohill Station. As you past by you can see a couple standing remains of the old railroad station.

It was in this area in the May of 1913 where there was a terrible train wreck. A fireman of Hagerstown, Maryland was killed and 11 others were injured when two trains collided. Many railroad cars rolled down the steep embankment and into the canal.
